Mixed Media, Booth 534
I’m a self-taught artist, but my years of experimentation with copper have given me an education, and a well-educated mind has more questions than answers. My curiousity helped me discover the evocative nature of copper. With colours as varied as a painter’s palette, I use copper to create vibrant tones that inspire wonder. My practice is rooted in a belief of art as therapy. I create compositions that are ambiguous, and let the viewer take the wheel, while providing a respite for the soul. My work draws on the properties of copper to create colour, texture, and shape. I use chemical and thermal techniques to transform the material from a natural state to many unexpected finishes.
