Anthony Vandertuin

Art Battle, Painting, Booth 802

Anthony’s work captures a moment in time. Whether it’s the fleeting glimpse of a face or the evocative impression of a landscape, the paintings are focused more on what the subject feels like than being purely representational. His figurative work is less about who the subject is and more about the emotional connection created. Narratives are intentionally ambiguous and personal to each viewer. Abstract landscapes are created from memory and imagination. Each of the paintings are explorations in paint application, abstraction, mark-making and composition. His work can be found in private collections in Toronto, throughout Canada and the U.S.
