Daniel St-Amant

Painting, Booth 630

In my art practice I use roadways to emphasize our global footprint. I captures tire tracks from climate affecting technologies by laying them out on the street for vehicles to run over leaving their literal marking across the prepared canvas. Once in the studio I uses these distinct markings to create my backdrop for my animal portraits. The paintings often include found objects such as twigs, leafs and moss’s that are mixed into the paint adding a natural palettes and creating beautiful textures. I hope to challenges the viewer to reflect on how pollution, urbanization, and the over-use of resources are affecting wildlife and habitats everywhere.
