Mixed Media, Booth 700
Deborah uses Nature as an access point for her creative practice. She looks closely at organic details and becomes an observer of the ordinary. A simple tuft of grass, a pile of fieldstone, the pattern of grass flattened by spring run-off or the weave of a bird's nest, these subtle and sometimes brief articulations of the landscape provide a source of inspiration for her. Working with wood, carving tools, fire, paint, drawing mediums and mono-printing techniques, Deborah creates two dimensional investigations that provoke the curiosity of the viewer to engage with these seemingly mundane finds. Recently, she has included fibre art and multidisciplinary installation into her practice. Deborah's work aims to transmit the sense of curiosity and wonder she experiences.
