Painting, Booth 901
After more than twenty years of pouring her creative energies into various artistic and curatorial endeavours, Johanna’s focus has now fully turned to her own painting practice. She is ever infatuated with natural shapes and elements from our world, aiming to create abstracted yet familiar themes for viewers to engage with. In December 2018, Air Canada purchased four large works for their permanent collection. These pieces, in a series called Passages, are installed along the feature wall in the newly redesigned Maple Leaf members lounge at LaGuardia airport in New York. Johanna is gearing up for an exciting 2020 year with a springtime feature in an upcoming Sarah Richardson Design book entitled, Collected and a summer long painting exhibition at Langdon Hall with fellow Artist Project artist, Kara McIntosh. Johanna studied Art History and Studio Arts at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. She works and lives in her hometown of Toronto with her husband and two children. Her work is in private and corporate collections across North America and Europe.
