Victor Molev

Painting, Booth 307

I was born in Nizhniy Novgorod (Russia) in 1955. I graduated from architecture faculty and worked as an architect and theater set painter. I participated in numerous exhibitions (both solo and general) in Russia, Israel , Europe and Canada. My works can be found in private collections throughout Europe, United States, Australia, South Africa, Canada, Japan, and Israel. I work in surrealist and neorealism styles. As well, my works have been utilized as illustrations for various printed works such as the Canadian book "Finn the Half Great" by Theo Coldwell, and an issue of the Brazilian psychoanalytical journal titled "Psychoanalysis and Creativity". Recently, I have drawn a lot of portraits of historical figures and popular icons, musicians and actresses. My oeuvre is a reflection of my sub- and semi-conscious, nevertheless, it is rooted in my daily experiences. My life is a journey wherein new works, new circumstances and new imaginative directions are intertwined as creative road map, at times mundanely straightforward, at others using mathematical language to talk about the soul or the sublime to outline architecture.
