Art Battle, Painting, Booth 709
Cathy Boyd is a impressionist landscape painter who paints primarily in oils. Cathy discovered her artistic abilities in her late 40's. Initially a language teacher in the public school system, she accepted a teaching position which required her to teach art to senior students and created a lifelong interest in the visual arts. Primarily self taught, Cathy continues to experiment with new processes, styles and subject matter and her work evolves with each successive year. She is very prolific, completing approximately 100 paintings per year. Cathy's many collectors enjoy her vivid colours and subject matter that celebrates the beauty of Georgian Bay and the north. For the last 4years Cathy has owned and operated a successful art gallery in Midland, Ontario.
